Jeff Cleghorn is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia. He graduated from Warner Robins Christian Academy in 1988. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, in 1993; a Master of Arts in Church Ministries degree from Luther Rice Seminary (now Luther Rice University) in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2005; and an Associate of Arts in Funeral Science degree from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, Georgia, in 2011.
From May 1988 until June 1994, Jeff served as the church organist of Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was called as full-time Minister of Instrumental Music in June 1994, where his responsibilities included establishing and directing the Church Orchestra, establishing and serving as administrator for the Conservatory of Music, and assisting the Minister of Music in day-to-day operations of the Music Ministry. By the summer of 2008, the Church Orchestra had grown to nearly 40 players, and the Conservatory of Music provided private music lessons for over 200 students each semester.
In addition to his full-time solo ministry, Jeff travels with his family, performing Southern Gospel music as The Cleghorns (www.thecleghorns.com). From 2004 to 2013, Jeff served as crusade pianist for Bailey Smith Real Evangelism Conferences across the country, and has played for Phil Waldrep Celebrators' Conferences as well.
The following statement summarizes Jeff's basic doctrinal beliefs:
I believe the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant Word of God. It is God's only written word and is adequate for faith and life.
I believe that Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died an atoning death, rose bodily from the grave, and will one day return for His church. He, Jesus, is the ONLY way by which anyone can be saved.
